<p>Stapled plain notebook, A5, 48 pages, printed softcover, inspired by the National Palace of Mafra, a baroque architectural ensemble consisting of a Royal Palace, a Basilica and a Convent. It has important collections of Italian sculpture, Italian and Portuguese painting, an 18th century library with some 38,000 volumes and a Conventual Nucleus, as well as two carillons with 92 bells - the largest of the time, six historical organs in the Basilica and a hospital from the period.<br /><br />Commissioned by King João V to fulfil a vow of succession, the National Palace of Mafra is the most important Baroque monument in Portugal. Made of local lioz stone, it covers 38,000 m, with 1 200 rooms, 4 700 doors and windows and 156 staircases, a magnificence only made possible by the influx of gold from Brazil.<br /><br />Palácio Nacional de Mafra</p>
