Conservation treatment is governed, as a rule, by the principles of “minimum intervention” and involves the conservation of both the painting support and the pictorial layer. Each intervention implies an interdisciplinary approach
meant to get to know and characterise the work, so that the most appropriate criteria are defined based on the study of techniques, supports and data obtained in testing and analyses.
